Enrolment Information

Kurnai College places a strong emphasis on successful transitions. Our enrolment process includes close collaboration with students’ current schools and personalised family enrolment meetings. This ensures a smooth, supportive transition and a confident start to life at Kurnai College.

Enrolment Process

To enrol your child at our college there is a two-step process:

  1. Contact the campus where you wish to enrol our child and our reception staff will gather the required information.
  2. An appointment will be made by the Campus Principal to meet with new families and provide a tour of the school during a normal school day, an enrolment pack will also be provided.

Students residing in our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, determined by their permanent residential address.

The Department provides guidance through the Enrolment: Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.

Information on how to find, enrol, and start a child in your care at a school in Victoria is available on the Victorian government website.

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au, which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones.

YEAR 7 ENROLMENT

Victorian Government School students can apply to Kurnai College through their respective primary school. Non-Government school students can apply directly to Kurnai College.

The enrolment process for Year 7 students from local feeder schools, commences in Term 2 for the following years intake. Kurnai College will conduct information nights for prospective families at the beginning of Term 2.  Parents are advised of these dates via their primary school and advertising via our social media channels as well as newspaper advertisements.

Primary schools will distribute an ‘Application for Year 7 Placement’ form to Grade 6 students.  These applications will be collated by your child’s primary school and forwarded to Kurnai College.  Staff from our college will visit students at their primary schools throughout the year and provide further information to those students who are enrolling.

Year 7 students moving from outside the local area to Kurnai College, should contact the General Office to make an enrolment enquiry.
