Ngalu Waru Dardee — Together We Grow

Kurnai College is proud to present our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), Ngalu Waru Dardee, a title drawn from the language of the Gunaikurnai people, meaningTogether We Grow. This RAP reflects our ongoing commitment to reconciliation and our responsibility to walk respectfully alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Ngalu Waru Dardee is more than a document—it is a living commitment that guides how we build relationships, embed respect, and create meaningful opportunities across our college community.

Our Commitment

Kurnai College recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Nations peoples of Australia and acknowledges the Gunaikurnai people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our campuses stand. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our learning community.

Through our RAP, we aim to strengthen understanding, foster genuine partnerships, and ensure that reconciliation is embedded in everyday practice across teaching, learning, leadership, and community engagement.

Relationships

We are committed to building strong, respectful, and authentic relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This includes working in partnership with local Elders, community organisations, families, and students to ensure voices are heard, valued, and reflected in decision-making across the College.

Respect

Kurnai College actively promotes respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and perspectives. We do this by embedding cultural learning into the curriculum, acknowledging significant dates and events, and ensuring our environments and practices honour Australia’s First Nations peoples.

Opportunities

We are committed to creating inclusive opportunities that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, staff, and communities. This includes pathways for learning, leadership, employment, and cultural engagement that enable all members of our community to thrive.
