Year 10
The Year 10 Program at Kurnai College emphasises providing students with the opportunity to explore a wide range of career and pathway options while meeting their individual needs. Engagement, wellbeing, and differentiation are at the forefront of our approach, ensuring that each student can thrive. As the gateway to the Senior School Programs, Year 10 sets the stage for students to start exploring their interests through engaging electives, VCE and VET classes.
In Year 10, the focus on personal growth is integrated into the weekly Pastoral Care classes “Careers, Transitions and Resilience”. These classes not only enhance students’ interpersonal skills but also educate them about various future pathways and career options. This approach ensures that students develop into well-rounded individuals. The increasing demands on learning are met within a supportive environment that fosters both academic and personal growth.
The Victorian Curriculum for Year 10 offers a coherent and comprehensive set of prescribed content and achievement standards, guiding schools in planning student learning programs. Our program is flexible and tailored to individual needs, allowing students to engage in a variety of subjects and identify areas of particular interest. This personalised approach helps students align their learning with their future schooling and career aspirations.
